The Jamaica Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (JAMU) will have its Second Quinquennial Session at the Mandeville Seventh-day Adventist Church in Manchester from December 1-3, 2015.
As part of the preparation for the Session, the Union, through the Ministry of Prayer has designated August 22 – December 3, 2015 as “100 Days Prayer Focus.” The main focus the prayer initiative is to lead the membership in closer relationship with God and each other so that God’s leading will be experienced up to and during the Session.
Pastor Dudley Hosin, as he launches the 100 Days of Prayer Focus at the Cedar Grove tent campaign in Mandeville, Manchester.
“The need for the 100 days of prayer is for the Church in Jamaica to experience oneness,” said Pastor Dudley Hosin, Prayer Ministries Coordinator at JAMU. “I believe as a Church we need to spend more time with God in prayer and the upcoming Union Session has provided us with the opportunity to engage in united prayer.”
Each member of the Church is asked to have a prayer partner and daily prayer for:
- The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
- Unity
- The Union Session and all its related activities.
The Church at corporate worship should also make the above mentioned items its focus in prayer.
Individuals pray together during the launch of the 100 Days of Prayer Focus at the Cedar Grove tent campaign in Mandeville, Manchester.
“Like the early Church we still believe that earnest sincere prayers move not only the hand of God but the minds of men and during these 100 and more days we can experience first century lifestyle of prayer for 21st Century living,” Hosin added.
The 100 days of prayer focus was launched on Sabbath, August 22, in Churches across Jamaica.
