FALMOUTH, Trelawny – As a way of saying thanks to the town for hosting them for a five-day international event, Pathfinders spruced up sections of Falmouth on Holy Thursday and Good Friday.
The Community Impact Programme was part of the Inter-American Division (IAD) of Seventh-day Adventists’ fifth IAD Pathfinders Camporee.
Campers cleaned up Falmouth Fishing Beach and the nearby Falmouth infirmary on Holy Thursday. Then on Good Friday, working as groups spread out across the town, they gave some sidewalks a fresh coat of paint.
Among participants spotted at the infirmary was Pastor Christopher Mighty, who led one of the teams that gave the facility a facelift.
“I am here with other team leaders monitoring these groups. We are camping at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium and we are here for this community impact,” he explained.
“We have a number of campers who have gone to the beach clean-up. They are along the beach and those of us who are here now, we are cleaning up the yard and we are going to do some painting,” he added during a brief wait for the paint to arrive.
The successfully staged camporee ended last Saturday night.
