MANDEVILLE, JAMAICA – The Cedar Grove District of Seventh-day Adventist Churches in Mandeville, Manchester, has concluded its “There’s a Better Life” evangelistic series, with over 100 people baptized.

Pastor Charvone Clarke, who leads the Cedar Grove District of Seventh-day Adventist Churches, closed the series and the first quarter of the year as a centurion, having led 113 people to Christ.

“We’ve seen 113 precious souls baptized, credited to the series,” Pastor Clarke said. “We launched on February 22 and started at the tent on March 1. We had 5 baptized before March 1, and from March 1 to March 29, we had 108 people, making the total 113 precious souls to the glory of God.”

According to Pastor Clarke, the series aimed to point people to the better life found in Jesus Christ. “It was all about pointing people to the better life that exists in Jesus Christ,” he explained. “We started with that as our topic, and we ended with it. We pulled different stories, scenarios, and doctrinal points to convey what that life looks like and feels like… a better life … with the Lord.”

The series was a comprehensive evangelistic effort focused on conveying the transformative power of a relationship with Jesus Christ. Through dynamic preaching, personal testimonies, and community outreach, the Cedar Grove district of churches sought to share the message of hope and redemption found in the gospel.

Pastor Clarke attributed the series’ success to the moving of the Holy Spirit. “We just surrendered ourselves to the Lord, stepped aside, confessed our sins, and admitted our inadequacies,” he said. “God came and filled our lack, and today, we are just at a loss for words. The Lord has done it again.”

This achievement is the latest in a series of recognitions for Pastor Clarke, who was recently awarded the title of Leading Pastor in Evangelism in the Jamaica Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists for 2024.
