Pastor Jermaine Johnson was elected president of the North Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventists during its fourth quadrennial session on April 21, 2026, in Duncans, Trelawny.
Delegates ratified the nominating committee’s recommendation in a 110–40 vote.

Johnson, who was accompanied to the podium by his wife, Georgia, expressed gratitude and a sense of responsibility following the decision.
“I am deeply humbled and grateful for the privilege of serving,” he said. “I have not won a grand prize, but have been given a heavy burden to bear,” he added, calling for “support, prayers, and fasting” as he assumes the role.

He also acknowledged the confidence placed in him to lead the conference.
“I accept this assignment with thankfulness for the confidence reposed in me to carry on the work in this field,” Johnson said.
In congratulating Johnson, Jamaica Union Conference President Pastor Glen Samuels affirmed the decision of the delegates.
“The delegates in session have spoken after much prayer,” Samuels said. “Congratulations, and may Almighty God bless you and guide you by His will and Spirit.”

Johnson previously served as pastor of the Moneague District of Churches before accepting a call in February to serve as Personal Ministries Director of the Jamaica Union Conference. On March 12, the Union’s Executive Committee also assigned him the role of Social Media Mission Engagement Director.
He also expressed appreciation to former presidents Pastor Karl Archer and Pastor Wenworth Monroe for their leadership during the past quadrennium.
The North Jamaica Conference is one of the administrative regions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamaica, overseeing approximately 74 churches and serving more than 22,000 members.
