“The Church is a house of prayer and in order to make the Publishing Ministry more effective, we must pray without ceasing. There is power in prayer”.
This was the sentiment expressed by Pastor Dudley Hosin, Publishing Director of Jamaica Union Conference of SDA (JAMU), while speaking at the Publishing and Spirit of Prophecy Conference hosted by Jamaica Union in Association with East Jamaica Conference Publishing Department. The conference was held on June 6, 2015 at the Constant Spring SDA Church under the theme “Sent to save, bringing hope to every home.”
The Publishing and Sprit of Prophecy Departments where reignited for service as Colporteurs, Publishing and Spirit of Prophecy Directors from churches across the four zones turned out in their numbers. The Sabbath school programme was done by the Colporteurs in the form of a drama presentation depicting the life, vision and work of Ellen G. White.
Special guest presenter Pastor Kent Price, Publishing Director of the South Bahamas Conference, presented on the topic, “The Publishing Ministry in the Plan of God”, while Pastor Dudley Hosin, Publishing Director of Jamaica Union, presented on the topic “Effective Publishing Ministry in the Local Church”.
Mrs. Kathleen Dunkley, Publishing and Spirit of Prophecy Director, EJC, in bringing her greetings, implored the church to support the publishing ministry, and to purchase the many books that are available to the church at a reasonable cost.
“Each department of the church, has a book from the Spirit of Prophecy to help in the guidance of that department,” added Dunkley.
