Staff and students of the Adventist-owned and operated Campbell’s Castle Preparatory (CCP) School in Manchester, Jamaica are mourning the loss of a beloved retired principal, Mrs. Veronica Turner, who died at the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) on 16 December 2017.
Mrs. Turner, who retired September 2016, served the Adventist Church for close to 40 years. Most of those years were spent at the Campbell’s Castle Preparatory School.
“The children are not taking it so well”, said Mrs. Cecile Forbes, current principal of CCP. “We heard the news while attending church on Sabbath. And though school was not in session, the word went out. Some children turned up at the school asking if it’s true. It’s really sad”, she continued.
