Jericho Church Rededicated after 82 Years of Service to the Community

Though affected by three major Natural Disasters and the onslaught of other ravishing threats over the past 82 years, the Jericho Seventh-day Adventist Church triumphantly celebrated God’s presence with them on Sabbath, August 4, 2018, during a weekend long celebration which saw as the main highlight the rededication of the Church’s physical edifice.

The rededication of the temple took place in the presence of local members and representatives from the wider church organization. To the delight and appreciation of the members of the Jericho Church, the rededication was expedited with the help of a few former members referred to as the “Diaspora Restoration Committee.”

Celebrated under the theme: “Restoration, Renewal and Rededication,” the brethren and community members took time out to acknowledge the remarkable improvement that the edifice has undergone over the past three years. Many also used the opportunity to rededicate their lives to God.

Through the combined efforts of the committee members, over USD$40,000 was raised to assist with the restorative work of the temple. The Diaspora Restoration Committee is steered by a membership of five key individuals: Dr. Lincoln McKenzie, Elder Homer McKenzie, Sis. Charmaine Gordon, Bro. Frederick Bucknor and Chairperson Dr. Eric Allen. The motivation to organize this body came after the need for renovation was observed and mutually shared by the members of the committee.
