The Adventist Development Relief Agency (ADRA) partnered with the National Health Fund (NHF) to conduct a free, two-day health clinic for the residents of Clifton Community in Portmore, St. Catherine.
The clinic was held on Monday July 20 and Tuesday July 21 and over 400 persons benefited. The NHF utilized its recently acquired state-of-the-art mobile clinic to assist in this outreach project.
According to Miss Sophia Mitchell, Promotion Coordinator for NHF, “We are here today to carry out NHF Community Health Day activities, where we offer free screening tests, including blood, sugar, cholesterol, haemoglobin, ECG and basic sight reading tests.”
The Heart Foundation of Jamaica conducted the ECG tests on behalf of the NHF, whose team also included 4 nurses, one of whom offered counselling to patients after tests were done. Application forms for the NHF programme were also made available to qualified persons.
