The leaders elected to serve the Central Jamaica Conference (CJC) for the 2022-2026 quadrennium have solemnly pledged to serve under God’s direction as they were formally installed into office at the Spanish Town Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church on June 25, 2022.
The officers were selected during the conference session held June 16 and 17.
President of the Jamaica Union of SDAs, Pastor Everett Brown, reminded them that as they serve, doing the right thing is more important than being popular. He also emphasised that they should not primarily rely on their personal capabilities to carry out their duties but on God’s wisdom.
“Pastor Barrett, your team received a resounding mandate from the people. That vote of confidence is good capital for leadership. You have a balanced and experienced team. However, a committee must not only be experienced and innovative but must have submitted themselves to the power of God,” Brown said.
In his response, CJC President, Pastor Nevail Barrett, thanked God for leading his life and ministry for the 36 years that he has been a member of the SDA Church.
