Chantelle Wynter of the Bellas Gate Seventh-day Adventist church and Central Jamaica Conference took first prize during the Jamaica Union Bible Connection competition (formerly Bible Bowl Competition) held at the St. Ann’s Bay Church on Sabbath afternoon, October 20, 2018.
Chantelle Wynter came out on top with 460 points, followed by two representatives of the East Jamaica Conference with 415 each. The other CJC representative, Alecia Walton of the Dover Church placed 4th with 395 points.
Chantelle has earned the right to represent the Jamaica Union at the Inter-American Division (IAD) Bible Bowl Connection, to be held December 1, 2018 in Belize.
The Bible Connection 2018 competition focused on the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and a few chapters in book, The Desire of Ages by Ellen G. White.
According to Pastor Kevan Barnaby, Youth Director of CJC, “The objective of Bible Connection is to get more youth to develop an appetite for studying the Word.” According to him, above the awards and recognition is the “greater joy that comes with studying the Word and improving one’s relationship with Jesus.”
