Deaf Pastor to Preach at First Adventist Deaf Ministries Day

Jeff Jordon, Deaf Pastor and Associate Sabbath School and Personal ministries Director for the Adventist World Church will be the main speaker for the day along with Pastor Everett Brown, President of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamaica.
This will take place at the Portmore Seventh-day Adventist Church, Port Henderson Road, St. Catherine on Saturday, July 9, 2016 starting at 9:00 am under the theme “Hearing His Voice”.

Pastor Jeff Jordon
“We believe that deafness must never separate us from the love and meaningful relationship we can enjoy together and the ministry that God has given us to share with each other,” said Pastor Adrian Cotterell, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director of the Jamaica Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. The day will speak to the fact that the deaf must never be neglected by the hearing community and the church has a responsibility to ensure that intentional inclusiveness characterizes the work, mission and ministry of the church at all times.”
One of the highlights of the day will be a musical presentation from a deaf choir. There will also be full participation by members of the deaf community in the worship service…expressing themselves in their native language and praising God with their family and members of the church. The afternoon’s programme will include a panel discussion on the role of the deaf in economic growth and development.
The programme forms part of the Church’s Special Needs Ministry, which encourages the membership at large to engage and involve members with special needs in worship services while making adequate provision for their access to the church’s facilities.
