A pastor and former overseer of fourteen Revivalist churches in Jamaica was baptized at a Seventh-day Adventist Church tent campaign in St. Thomas recently. The pastor, who had spent thirty years of his life building up the Mount Olivet Christian Church, was among a group of twenty candidates in the first baptism under the “Lord Transform Me” tent campaign which began on October 16, 2016.
Carlton Thomas 82, and his wife Iva, were baptized on Sabbath October 29, 2016 by Pastor Joel Jumpp, pastor of the Port Morant District of churches and co-evangelist to the evangelistic campaign situated along the Port Morant main road.
Preacher under the tent which is expected to come to a close this week-end is Evangelist Kooran Haystings, who also was a former Pentecostal Bishop before joining the SDA church twelve years ago in 2004.
Thomas said he came to the knowledge of the Sabbath truth some time ago but found himself facing a decision when the leaders of his church frowned upon his suggestion to tell the members about the Sabbath.
