The Adventist Church in Jamaica and around the world is taking steps to reclaim missing members in a way it has never done before. This was revealed at the recent LTM Sabbath School Congress and School of Evangelism Graduation held on April 26 – 27 in Kingston where lay leaders, pastors and Church Administrators   gathered for a special consecration, reconciliation and reclamation service at the Kencot SDA Church. Before launching the new emphasis on membership reclamation, Pastor Samuel Telemaque, Sabbath School Director at the Inter-American Division, IAD, invited Pastor Adrian Cotterell, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director, JAMU, Pastor Carl Cunningham, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries Director, EJC and East Jamaica Conference President, Pastor Eric Nathan, to join him on the platform with all the pastors who were present in the church.

“Brothers and Sisters, this is an historical moment,” Telemaque said, as he addressed the church, flanked by Conference administrators and pastors on the platform. “In every Conference and in any Union where you want to implement change and you want to give the church a new direction, you always begin in the city and with the city church,” he continued. “We want every church in Jamaica to have a Home Coming Sabbath on September 7,” said Telemaque. The IAD Sabbath School Director disclosed that there will be a massive home coming celebration across the Division on September 7, 2019 where it is estimated that one million former members will be reconciled to Christ and to the church on that day. Pastor Telemaque, who spoke on behalf of the Inter-American Division Administrators, officially launched the ministry of reconciliation of all former members across the IAD territory and across Jamaica in the afternoon of April 27.
