It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Dr. Cornelius Gray, a former President of Central Jamaica Conference.

Dr. Cornelius Gray | Credits:

Dr. Gray served the Conference as President for a period of nine years - 1980 to 1989.

He died at his home in Miami, Florida on Tuesday, June 18, 2017.

According to Pastor Levi Johnson, current President of the Conference, “Dr. Gray was a successful evangelist and a firm administrator.” He stated that under Dr Gray’s leadership, many of the larger churches in the Portmore area, including Braeton and Waterford, were raised up.

During his employment with the Conference which began in 1963, Dr. Gray served in the capacity of intern Pastor and District Pastor. He later became President.  His full tenure spanned a total of 28 years - 1963 to 1991.

The Thanksgiving Service for Dr. Gray will be on July 9, 2017 at the Maranatha SDA Church in Florida, USA starting at 11:00 am.
