The Trench Town SDA Church erupted in appreciation when Dr. Donna Brown, Education Director in East Jamaica Conference, shared the good news that five  year old  Dakarai Williams of Trench Town SDA Basic School, would be awarded a scholarship to attend Kingsway Prep. School at the beginning of the next school year.

The scholarship was presented to Ms. Mary Meeks, mother of Dakarai Williams by Elder Desmond Young, Chairman of the Conference Wide Development Committee on Sabbath February 25, 2017 during Education Rally which was held at the Trench Town SDA Church.

The scholarship will take effect at the beginning of the 2017 -2018 Academic School year which begins in September.

Principal of  Trench Town Basic School  Mrs. Lurline James was delighted to receive this special  gift for one of her students on her birthday.

It was obviously a special moment for Dakarai Williams, his mother Mary Meeks, school principal Mrs. Lurline James,  the church and Dr. Donna Brown, who could hardly contain herself as she told the remarkable story of how the five year old got his mother to be baptized and become a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
